Career Counseling (Schedule an Appointment)
Reasons to meet with a Career Counselor:
- Explore careers and majors through discussion, assessments, and related activities.
- Learn about tools and resources related to majors and careers.
- Discuss opportunities and make your college education successful.
- Identify the skills you have developed through your academic, extracurricular, internship, and job experiences.
- Make informed decisions about college major, careers, job offers, and graduate schools.
- Recognize how personal strengths and limitations affect career planning.
- Research employers and industries.
- Develop strategies to explore your professional network.
- Create and implement a strategic job, internship search, or graduate school plans.
- Develop your resume, cover letter, and interview.
Internships
All students are encouraged to complete at least one internship during their undergraduate experience. Work with a Career Counselor to develop your internship search strategy.

Workshops and Events
The office of Career & Professional Development offers a wide array of events and workshops that allow you to learn essential career knowledge, explore yourself and career paths, and connect with alumni and employers!
Career Fairs
Explore career possibilities and meet employers looking to hire Penn State Abington students for internships and full-time jobs at the Abington Internship & Career Fair. We also provide transportation every semester to the Career Days at University Park.
Site Visits
We organize site visits to companies in the Greater Philadelphia region so students can learn about career paths, make connections with employers, and experience the world of work.
Networking Events
We host panels and networking events for students to connect with alumni and employers to learn about opportunities and build meaningful relationships.
Alumni Connections
Students have access to one of the largest active alumni networks through Penn State. Students can connect with Penn State Alumni to ask questions about their career, network, and gain experience through project work on LionLink.
Career Closet
Students preparing to attend Career Fairs, interviews, or business professional networking events may not yet own appropriate professional attire. The Career Closet is a resource for Abington students to select professional attire for FREE as they prepare to meet potential employers. The Career Closet is utilized by students from all majors.
